Markdown for Lawyers

This page is the new canonical article layout: premium typography, cleaner reading width, styled command blocks, and placeholder media regions that can absorb future content.

Why this guide layout exists

For this phase, the goal is not to perfect every paragraph. The goal is to create a strong, reusable structure for future legal-tech articles. This template emphasizes readability, hierarchy, and a more elevated visual tone.

Design note

This block stands in for key takeaways, warnings, or short editorial framing without requiring final content right now.

Suggested workflow structure

1

Draft in plain text

Use a simple, distraction-light environment that keeps structure visible and formatting lightweight.

2

Convert with a repeatable toolchain

Use Pandoc or an equivalent process to move from plain text into filing-ready or collaboration-ready formats.

3

Polish only at the edge

Save final visual adjustments for the latest stage instead of wrestling with formatting while drafting substance.

Example syntax blocks

# Motion Title ## Background ### Argument Heading
This is **important**. This is *emphasized*. This is a footnote reference.[^1]

Command presentation

The command block has been redesigned to feel more deliberate and product-grade while still remaining simple static HTML.

pandoc motion.md -o motion.docx
